Open Access Policy
I. Policy Background
In order to promote the wide dissemination and sharing of knowledge and enhance the influence and accessibility of research results, Focuscholar is committed to promoting Open Access to ensure that academic research results can be used by the society to the greatest extent.
II. Policy Scope
This policy applies to academic achievements resulting from research projects funded by Focuscholar, including but not limited to journal articles, conference papers, research reports, datasets, etc.
III. Definition of Open Access
Open Access refers to the free, immediate, and unrestricted access to research results in the public network environment, allowing any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full text.
IV. Rights and Obligations of Authors
(I) Rights
- Authors retain the copyright of their works but need to grant Focuscholar a non-exclusive license for use to achieve the purpose of Open Access.
- Authors have the right to choose a publishing channel that supports Open Access.
(II) Obligations
- Authors should, when publishing research results, try to choose a publishing model that supports Open Access.
- For authors who choose the traditional subscription model for publication, they should submit the final version after peer review to Focuscholar-designated Repository within a reasonable period after publication (generally no more than 4 weeks ) and ensure that it meets the requirements of Open Access.
V. Support and Responsibilities of the Institution
(I) Support
- Focuscholar will provide necessary training and resources to help authors understand the relevant knowledge and processes of Open Access.
- For authors who choose the Open Access publishing model, Focuscholar will consider providing partial or full support for publishing fees.
(II) Responsibilities
- Be responsible for maintaining and managing Focuscholar-designated Repository to ensure the long-term preservation and accessibility of research results.
- Supervise and evaluate the implementation of this policy and report to relevant stakeholders regularly.
VI. Compliance and Supervision
- Focuscholar will regularly review the Open Access status of research results to ensure the effective implementation of this policy.
- For acts that violate this policy, appropriate measures will be taken according to the specific situation, including but not limited to reminders , etc.
VII. Policy Update
This policy will be evaluated and updated regularly according to the development in the field of Open Access and the needs of Focuscholar. The updated policy will be published on www.focuscholar.com and relevant personnel will be notified in a timely manner.
